Let's try this. Go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewalls & change the listening port to 64049. Then reconnect. If still no-go, go back to the setting & change connection port to the same.

Here's some extra explanations for setting up XP firewall (don't know if they'll be of help but worth looking at): (i) Settings for XP Firewall, & also (ii) Setting Up WinXP Pro FireWall

Did you ever work out if you have a Norton firewall as well as the XP one?
Try going start > control panel > network connections > right click on your local area connection > properties > advanced. You'll see Windows firewall there & I'm guessing if you have a Norton firewall then you'll see that too (don't use Norton so this is a bit of a wild guess)!!

If you do have a Norton firewall, make sure the XP one's turned off & just configure the Norton for LW.

Ahhh we have Norton Antivirus Corporate Edition. My dad got it from his work. Does this help yall help me? Lol. Idk if it came with a firewall or not, how do I find out? I haev Limewire enabled on the Windows Firewall, even disabled it to see if LW would work, and it didn't even when Windows Firewall was disabled, so it must be something else. I also have AOL Spyware disabled. Wut else to do?

Try going to Connections in Control Panel and select View from the menu. Then Details. Expand the STATUS line by double-clicking on the right edge. With me it says "Connected, with firewall" (I hope, as I am using Norwegian)

If this is so with you, then look to the left of the window(XP). There should be some choices there where one should read something like "Change properties for Windows-firewall"
Click this and you will come to the settings for it. If you want to use Norton Firewall, simply turn off Windows-firewall.
If you don't have this, right-click connection, Properties->Advanced->Windows Firewall->Settings and then turn it off.

Haven't used anything from Norton for about 9 years, so I can't help you with that unless you send detailed screenshots. I may be able to see something from those.
