It would probably be easier to tell you what I haven't tried.

I havent tried everything on your site, but darn near it. Probably everything on at least the first five to seven pages of all your connection posts. Im not trying to be vague, Iv'e just tried so many different things. I could hunt and copy and paste all that I've tried if you really need it.

A
dding ports doesnt make it happen. I have even uninstalled, shut down the firewall and all secutity and installed. It still is blocked.

What else do you need to know?

Have you tried enabling UPnP within the modem?
Have you tried port forwarding?
Have you tried changing to a higher port (say 64049)?

Have you been able to use any other p2p apps successfully since you've had this prob with LW?

Check Aaron's posts in the thread below for some info about Alltel...might have something to do with your problem?

I'm not sure about enabling the UPnP within the modem. I did go to the firewall and tried enabling it there. Is that what you mean?

I do not know what port forwarding is.

I have tried all kinds of port numbers, using all that I have found on here, Microsoft and free ports

Have a look through the user guide, it explains how to enable UPnP within your modem. You also need that option checked within LW's tools > options > advanced > firewall config. It's no use having that UPnP option checked if you don't have it enabled within the router.

If enabling UPnP doesn't help, try port forwarding. For advice, check the site below. There are step-by-step instructions. Don't forget to set up a static IP first, else port forwarding won't work. In this case, make sure that the manual port forward option's checked within the LW firewall config.

I use AVG & it hasn't stuffed anything up for me. Are you using the free version?

ok, been doing alot of the stuff that you linked me to. Tried the port forwarding but I cannot purchace that right now. So it could not do the router for me.

I think my problem might be, or at least part of my problem is with my firewall. When I add a port it keeps changing the IP to the name of my computer. Is that normal? There is no way to save it, no place to click "apply" or anything.
I will keep trying the fixes. Even though I havent made any real progress, I feel like I have to be getting closer.

Setting up UPnP (Universal Plug & Play) on your modem/router

I do not have a listing for Universal Plug and Play - UPnP settings for XP)

This is what my choices are

Internet gateway device Discovery and Control Client
Peer to Peer
RIP Listener
Simple TCP/IP Services
UPnP User Interface

What now?

Are these options that you see when you've logged into your router? Sorry I'm a bit lost here...what can't you purchase for port forwarding? There's nothing to purchase
