Free version of AVG

I downloaded the PFConfig on the link. Thought that was what I was suppose to do. And it says that the Router cannot be configured without purchace.

The UPnP was from one of Lord Of the Rings posts where I was just trying to make sure that my plug & play was enabled.

I will go back to the links that you posted, and this time I will read everything.
Sorry.

You don't have to download anything from the port forwarding site, just follow the instructions for your router. Don't forget the static IP, you'll see a pink link within the instructions

AFAIK AVG shouldn't be effecting your LW.

I tried everything that was suggested and I still get the same message "Limewire is currently connecting to the network. Your search may not return many results until you are fully connected to the network." I only have one Firewall which is Windows and it was off all the time. I tried changing the listening port in LW but that didn't help. And LW was working fine until recently (I'm not sure when the problem started). Please help!

That shows your LW is totally blocked from connecting. Try port forwarding your router. Step (a) is the most important one:
(a) Setting up Static ip for XP ________ (b) Port forwarding instructions for Paradyne 6211-I3
Choose a port between 49152 - 65535. A good one to try is 64049 which will need to be added to both the router's port forward rule, as well as LW's manual PF setting.

BTW I hope neither norton or avg include firewalls ... only one should be used otherwise less security and hidden problems because they will clash if more than one software firewall.

jpmarkie, you really shouldn't be using two antivirus programs either. IMHO AVG free is much better than Norton and does not use the resources like Norton does. Looks like your Java needs some updating and you should uninstall all older versions of Java as they can conflict with each other.
