Currently connecting to the network ... search may not return many results until ... When I search for something, it says: "Limewire is currently connecting to the network. Your search may not return many results until you are fully connected to the network." Also, I do have the brick wall in front of the globe, and have went and enabled the uPNP or wutever thing in network connections, and have also did the other thing where I allowed the port that showed up on Limewire. I'm so confused tho, it's all so above me. I don't even know for sure wut kind of firewall I have... |

Hmm AOL, reknown for problems with LW. Re-do your firewall settings for XP: Firewall configuration instructions (click on link) Do you have any advanced settings for AOL. I do know they offer special security, etc. Amongst them may be an external firewall, & also a spyware program that's not compatible with LW. An older post about AOL: AOL upgrade causing connection problems? |
I re-did my firewall settings for XP yesterday. I have no idea if I have the advanced settings or not, how do I find out? I read the thread... |
I just learned that we have Norton Anti-Virus but I have no idea if it automatically comes with the firewall or not... Bout to look around some, but plz lmk in case I can't figure it out (I doubt I can, I'm not overly tech-savvy) And I cant believe I haven't said this : THANK U FOR ALL UR HELP! |
I just saw that we have AOL Spyware Protection and turned it off. |
Did LW connect after you turned the spyware protection off? Close LW & re-open & try again. Give it time. ;) For spyware protection, we recommend these: (a) ad-ware (FREE), & also (b) Spybot - Search & Destroy (FREE) |
