Okay, just a warning: I don't know anything about computers.

I got to my dorm recently and tried to start up Limewire, but there's a brick in front of my globe, so I don't connect. What can I do about this?

Unfortunately many schools block or shape bandwidth against p2p programs. Except for that, if you have access to the connection device then make sure UPnP is enabled.

Didn't seem to work. Does anybody know of other filesharing programs that have been known to work on campuses?

If your college is blocking LW (a P2P app) chances are all P2P apps will be blocked.
