Default LimeWire keeps on connecting

Hello,

My LimeWire has an unusual problem, where no matter how many times I try to exit LimeWire it will re-load itself. I have selected it not to run on startup, etc., however it persists in running even when I exit it. Does anyone have a similar problem and know of a solution? Thankyou in advance!

Oh no .... thankyou for the links however. If I delete the files that I've downloaded from LimeWire in the past few days, will this necessarily solve the problem or are they not really at fault?

It is most definitely one of the files you downloaded, and will most likely be less than 1 MB in size but still have the name of the thing that you were looking for in the first place. Probably it's a zip file as well.

Just deleting the file won't help as you are already infected. You off course need to delete it so you don't share it with others. Uninstalling Limewire until this is fixed may be a good idea as well.

Try some of the fixes in that thread I posted the link to, or if you don't know how to do some of those things then go to Norbies world. He can help you get rid of it. Step 5 in that same thread

I am having the same problem, I exit out of lime wire and it keeps reconnecting, i even tried going through the process of one of the email threads for deleting windows updates which is suppose to be a virus. But i can't find that anywhere, i have uninstalled limewire, and it still connects and shows up on my desktop like it's still there. yet in control panel and remove programs it's not even available. somebody please help this has really become a pain. it won't even let me use the program. As i stated i uninstalled and reinstalled, i uninstalled and didn't reinstall no matter what i do same problem any help would be appreciated.

In my first post in this thread there was a link to how to fix this virus problem.

And if you are talking about deleting svchost from Windows, then not a good idea. Try the fixes in that thread or if to technical then just go to Norbies World and he will help you. Step 5 in the thread

I have tried everything, I need help. I even went through the help section of virus scanning, pc cleanup, whatever could be done. It is still showing an error that says startup error. It wont connect, it shows the window, when I exit out it restarts when I uninstall it, it still pops up with this error. ANY help would greatly be appreciated. It is driving me nuts!!!

Have you tried going to Norbies World for help. That usually helps. Step 5 in that link I posted before.
