![]() I have been using Limewire for years, and a few weeks ago, my anti virus messed up on me. I installed Zone Alarm last night, and have since been unable to connect. It has always worked fine before. I have Windows firewall disabled, using port 6346, and also tried other ports. I have it set on UPnP, and have told Zone Alarm to give Lime Wire and javaw.exe full access. The test page works, and I tried deleting the preference folder, and still no luck. I even tried shutting Zone Alarm down, so that I had no firewall at all blocking anything, and still no luck. I even tried creating the expert rules, but that did not help either. I have Limewire Version 4.8.1 and Java 1.5.9_06. Off the top of my head, I'm not sure what modem I have (I'll have to break into my roommates room to see), but it is a Linksys I think. I don't think it has a Nat firewall because I have been running Limewire on it fine for over a year. My ISP is Comcast. The only thing that has changed since it last worked was the installation of Zone Alarm. I don't understand why that would block it when I have told it to allow Limewire access, and especially when it is turned off completely. If it is of any relevance, I used to have McAfee Security Suite 7, and there are still a few McAfee files I was unable to delete on my computer that have their access blocked. The only one that is allowed access is McProxy.exe. Thanks for any help. |

![]() Most Linksys devices have UPnP & it is enabled by default. There's a lot of links but worth checking thru for past experience: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=38788 Configure ZA B link , _____ C link , _____ D link , _____ E link , _____ F link , _____ G link Also you may want to try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) |
