Angry Please help, im stuc :(

i have downloaded Limewire, and when i load it up it is only connected to the LAN, i am in Student Halls, and have McAfee firewall.

broadband though a network

7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)?
home, in uni accomadation
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.
lw 4.12.6 java 1.5.0_08
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)?
u-want internet
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.
in uni accomadation sharin an internet connection wit upto 30 others

Yes, but its still there if i turn of firewall

At a guess, I would say that your connection is being blocked by your IT admin people. As far I know, via this forum, P2P blocking a very popular form of curtailing bandwidth usage on college campuses in the US (I presume you are in the US).

Anyway, have a quite word with an IT admin person to see if this is true.

Default Unable to set up a port for incoming connections

I've been hving mch the same problem as u guys. I did what LW help told me, went thru all the steps but when I put in the port nbr as in step 2 it told me it was already in use. Now, I'm not sure if there is a list of port nbrs to use but I tried putting in different ones but none were valid. I hv ms, wndows xp, lot of everything. I hv limewire for a few years, news edition, and now connect. I did the test and it worked. I do not use the windows firewall, my antivirus is Panda. I know the connection was never denied. I have no idea why all of a sudden I cannot access it. Can anyone please help. Thanks
