Won't Connect

I have read and tried everything on this board, my isp isn't blocking anything.
I am not running any firewalls at all, they are all turned off ( windows xp ).
I get 2 or 3 bars then it goes back to none. Is there a problem with limewire and we are trying all of these fixes for nothing ? It has worked fine for 2 years and yesturday i upgraded to the new version, now it wont connect.
Tried putting the old version i had back on and it still wont connect. The link in one of these posts to check came back good on the test, my xp firewall is turned off, everybit of it. I have 500m of ram 80 gig free harddrive, isp isnt blocking anything at my home.
Please someone give me some help here or is limewire down ?
Is there something else i can use besides limewire that works ? This is to much trouble. A person shouldn't have to spend hours trying to get this stuff to work. I would go to the pro version of limewire but i cant even get the basic to work.
