I don't see anything wrong.

Go here & tell us what your ip is: http://www.whatismyip.com/

BTW what is Internode 1500/256.(Dynamic IPaddress)???
Is that your connection speed plan with your isp?
I wonder if a static ip on a dynamic ip service is an issue.

Did you check your router to see if it has UPnP or not?

Internode is my ISP

1500kb/s down 256kb/s upload

Dynamic IP address. (changes not static).
I'll try setting this up.link: http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/index...=wiki&tag=PFG3
It's a workaround Link: http://www.dyndns.org/

router doesn't support UPnP.

I'll post back with results

Thanks for the great details btw. Perhaps I'm missing something that's windows specific. But it looks fine to me.

NetComm supports UPnP btw. Try it instead of port forwarding. Rarely would I suggest this but it might be worth a go.

Once enabled on your netcomm, save settings, then open LW & change setting in advanced to UPnP instead of port forwarding. Again, close & re-open LW.

Oh I just read your post. It doesn't support UPnP? Are you sure? Check the options. Here for NB1 it is supported if go to Advanced tab http://www.portforward.com/english/r...1/Limewire.htm

Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there?

the modem is a Netcomm nb3, AFAIK it doesn't support UPnP I did check the whirpool wiki on it.

heres the portforward link: http://www.portforward.com/english/r...3/Limewire.htm

I'll try the dyndns thing i linked to in the last post, hopefully I can figure that out

ps Your test worked!

Another member also looked at your problem & settings & all seems to be fine. AFAIK no ISP in Australia blocks p2p. I presume you're not attempting to run another program through the same port? If yes then this would cause problems.

You could try a different port to connect through. But this would require port forwarding again & doing another setting for your ZA firewall. Try port 64049 instead of 6346.

Try another Gnutella p2p program. Here's some suggestions: FrostWire or Phex to see if you have the same problems.
FrostWire is almost identical to LW so no changes are needed in settings.

Thanks for all the help LotR, you'll be pleased to know I found the solution!!!

I thought about it after a good night sleep and slipped the NB3 into bridged mode... voilla! No brick wall! LimeWire working happily for ten minutes now in a Turbocharged state!

heres the link on how to do it for the Nettcom NB3. http://www.netcomm.com.au/tutorials/...ridge_Mode.wmv

By the way I removed all expert rules in ZoneAlarm as well, just make sure you allow LimeWire access to the internet in the Program control tab or just click allow as stated in the LimeWire FAQ and so on.

I'd suggest everyone else having connection problems slip their routers into bridged mode.

After you do that, you'll need to set up a new connection, as well as your existing one, in you OS to authenticate your connection to your ISP.

In Windows XP, go to the new connection wizard, click on the new connections wizard, connect to internet, set up connection manually, connect to an internet connection which requires a username and password, enter you ISP's name, enter your username and so on and your away.

This allows your computer to provide all the info necessary for your internet connection work and basically makes your modem/router a slave device.

any other problems you have with connections after that will be in your software firewall or your ISP/network your computer or LimeWire itself.

All the best and happy P2Ping
