connection incomplet

hi lime wire has been connecting fine until today i tried but seems to find host but will not stay connected to them can anyone help

Are you just not connecting to hosts, or is LW losing it's connection totally?

Do your files start off connecting, then go to 'need more sources'? If that's the problem, sounds like fake files. Search again, vary your search terms (for music, look for artist or album rather than song title) & try the All Types search. Stay away from files with heaps of sources, go for a file with 10 sources or less, or a modem source. Check out the links below for some more info.

For movies, look up a file with Bitzi before download. You'll see other users' opinions of the file. Files with lots of sources but no Bitzi rating are likely to be fakes.

If no files at all are connecting & you're convinced they're not fakes, you could try deleting LW's preferences folder when LW's closed. See points 2 & 3 below for instructions

when you look under the connection tab you can see LW looking for host but cannot connect to them and some times it does but only for a couple of seconds

Sorry about that, I read your first post completely wrong:D

So are you seeing any green connection bars, or it it just 'starting connection'? Do you see the firewall icon (brick wall in front of the blue globe)? What's changed since you could connect (hardware, ISP plan, new software, updated software etc)?

Read through this thread, it has a lot of info. Make sure your firewall's still configured properly. Do the port test & see if it works.
Connection problems? Check here first!

If you don't find any help there, post back with your details. Post #2 of that thread tells you the info that we need.

I'm not sure how reliable its UPnP is for that brand, or whether you actually enabled it. Did you enable it? If not, you may need to forward a port. See Port Forwarding for the SMC 7004FW. Most important step is the 1st which is setting up a static ip. Port forwarding is usually more reliable than UPnP. If your computer is stressed or LW is stressed then it can momentarily lose communication with the device & thus the port closes which is one of the drawbacks with UPnP. Not to mention some brands don't use regular UPnP specifications & thus is unreliable. That's why port forwarding is safer. It's usually also best to do one port forward for UDP & a separate one for TCP.

Otherwise Steps to Enable UPnP for SMC Barricade Plus SMC7004FW
