laptop thingy
 
so i am having the same problem as a lot of people here my laptop won't connect past one bar. here's that thing. i am sort of computer stupid so yeaaa

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) XP
2. What firewalls you have? just the windows one i think
3. How much ram? no clue
4. Hard Disk space available? lots
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) ethernet? we use cisco clean access
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?what?
7. Where are you trying to connect from (home, school, work, etc.)? school
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version.4.12.6 and 1.4.2_03
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? um internet explorer?
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? it doesn't say anything just says its done and not that it worked or anything
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. no
12. Is this a your 1st try at FW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. what?
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of FW's interface? yeaa

New to This Forum
 
Thank you Gnutella Forums for alowing me to join the board.

I found the Gnutella Forum accidently when I had a problem with charges being added to my charge card and was looking for information for getting those charges taken care of and off of my charge card.

Read a few of the other complaints about other people getting "scammed." Very informative.
