Default limewire and itunes

Hello all. Never done this before. I have used limewire on my last computer and haven't had this problem. Hope someone can help. I downlaod a song, click it and it opens in itunes becasue it is my default player. My question is this. When I delete it from limewire becasue I now have it in itunes, it no longer plays. Says it can't find it. I have changed the download path to my itunes library. I'm stumped. ANy thoughts??

Please and thanks.

Apparently so. The title of the song still exists in itunes but the file itself is apparently dissolved.

The files in itunes are a playlist and not the actual files. The files are still in your LW library, the playlist just points itunes to the files. So when you delete a file from your library, the playlist doesn't point to anything and the file doesn't play. You'll have to redownload the files you deleted. Hope this helps.

To clarify, iTunes has its own music library. But you need to copy the files you downloaded to that library. There's various techniques to do this properly without side issues. Follow 6_pac's link to see how.

As 6_pac pointed out, the LW playlist you see in iTunes is simply a playlist but the files themselves are not within the iTunes music library. That is something you need to fix by adding the songs properly. The LW playlist in iTunes is highly misleading. I hope you see the logic now after seeing 6_pac's link.

PS: I'd recommend disabling the LW playlist in iTunes. And simply add the songs to iTunes when you can. In that way you won't be mislead into thinking the songs are already in iTunes music library.

That 'limewire tunes' is just a playlist itself. The files aren't in the iTunes library, so you won't be able to use that create playlists.
You'll need to add files from your LW saved folder to the iTunes library. Have a look at 6_pac's post (#4) & click on the blue link there for more info.
