Used to work a few weeks back, can't remember if I have updated the version since then, but it won't connect now (imight have also done a reboot of my router in the meantime). Tried deleting the preferences directory, have added manually UDP/TCP services in Netgear for port 6346 but to no avail. 1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Windows XP Home 2. What firewalls you have? Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. no 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. the latter 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes thanks in advance! |
Plusnet is your problem I suspect. Find Plusnet listed here & the advice given ISP's known to BLOCK or Filter p2p or specifically Limewire. Try a higher port number. That means you will also need to add this port to firewalls such as your netgear router. But also check this since you said you may have updated: Reconfiguring Norton Firewall |
Unable to connect I have been using Limewire for about a year. About a month ago I downloaded the newer version and now I can't seem to connect. My bars never turn green. I try every day with no luck. Any ideas anyone? |
Try the fixes in the thread below. If LW Will Not Connect If nothing there helps, post back with your system details (see for thread for more info about the details that we need). |
