![]() For the past few months I've been using Frostwire relatively problem free but all of a sudden it stops functioning and I try to contact them. OK, I'm not exactly sure what kind of entity I'm dealing with. I originally contacted Limewire to set-up a p2p file-sharing account. I paid about $45.00-I don't remember the exact figure. I wound up getting something named "Frostwire" -for reasons that I don't remember because I didn't understand them at the time-and now I'm dealing w/ Gnutella. Whatever. Frostwire was ok-not great but serviceable for the most part so I never questioned anything. However, as of 10/27 my search for audio files began to come up completely blank-no hits at all. So I now need to call this elusive entity. I find out that Frostwire is free yet I paid $45.00 for it. I assumed, when I first got on Limewire's site that I was a "Pro" member, since I was not using the service for free. Limewire does not recognize my email address however. Another thing they don't do is publish their telephone number. Now I'm in the position of eating a big chunk of change or hopefully getting pointed in the right direction here. I sure would appreciate any help. Thanks, William G. Smith |

![]() You've been scammed. LimeWire Pro costs $18.88 USD & covers you for 6 months of updates & email support. LW basic, just like FW, is free. I don't know what site you downloaded from but it wasn't the official LW site www.limewire.com. Therefore, your email address would never have been in the official database & of course, wouldn't be recognised ![]() If you read through the threads below, you'll find some useful info http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=28751 http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=44499 It's probably too late to get your money back now, but you could report this to your bank/CC company anyway. Keep an eye on your statements too, just make sure that no more "payments" are taken from your account. *The official site for download of FW is http://www.frostwire.com/ |
