Default mac OS X...limewire connection problems

first off....Mac OS X 10.48, MacBook 2 Ghz, 1 GB Ram, 45 GB mem. avail. using Cable Modem is Residential Area w/ Microsoft MN-700 Wireless Router, ISP=Comcast in Delaware, and the port 6346 test worked....

I have went through the different steps seen on threads here, My p2p worked about two weeks ago using Acquisition and when that would connect to the peers and search, it would always return "no active sources" for every download that I've tried, I tried all types of downloads, so I know it wasnt a prob. with fake files, I then removed acquisition and reinstalled it and it would not connect to any peers, Limewire and AcqLite won't connect to any peers either. My friends on my wireless network both can use gnutella p2p programs on windows computers, I also tried repairing permissions on the harddrive, but that didn't work, I also allowed the ports in my osx firewall, no other firewall running on my comp, and I manually allowed ports on my router too....still doesn't connect and I haven't changed anything with my computer in the time between working and not....

sorry for the novel...I'm real frustrated with this...

Is there anyway to go back to my limewire connectiing....Is there somethign I can reset or files i can delete or change to make it connect again?

thanks

Default odd

ok after i tried more and more stuff, Limewire started connecting again after adding persistant port forwarding settings in my router, but now will only try to download and just get "Need more sources" again...I've tried all type of files, I'm almost 100% positive they aren't fake...

any ideas?

Unless you're super-paranoid, OSX users don't really need a firewall. I have mine disabled most of the time. Can you please answer the following questions: http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showpo...91&postcount=2 (yes I know you've already detailed some answers but we need to know the whole story. Thanks!) Oh & also try the bottom 2 question tests about performance which includes the magnet link. It will be very interesting to find out what happens.

this is weird, i changed the port used, didn't forward the port for that and now it will work but only download some files, but it for certain seraches it keeps saying "Need More Sources"...

this is probably just a problem with fake files im guessing, tell me what you think...ill put this up anyway:

1. Mac OSX 10.48
2. Mac's built in firewall
3. 1 GB Ram
4. 45 GB memory avail.
5. cable internet
6. Motorola Surfboard Modem/Microsoft MN-700 Wireless Router
7. Connecting from Residential Area
8. LW v. 4.12.6
9. Comcast in Delaware
10. port test worked.
11. Sharing internet w/ two other PC's, they have no Limewire problems.
12. New Prob w/ experienced user, but new to Mac's
13. Yes, Brickwall is there.

Performance Issues:
14. 4486 Down, 342 Up
15. couldn't get the magnet link to work, the window to ask me about magnet links was too big for my screen, even when i tried to move things around...

Now that Limewire changed the port to 35673 from 6346, it works but still displays this need more sources but only on certain searches....really confusing....and i would turn off the firewall on OSX, but i don't know howto, I've jsut allowed the new ports along with the old ones...

Firewall off is here

The brick wall suggests a firewall of some kind be it your router or software firewall or your ISP.
