Did you try enabling UPnP or port forwarding for your router, as was suggested in one of your other threads??

Same Problem

I've got the same problem. I have a new system with Windows XP and I use a linkys router that has no firewall. I've turned off the Windows firewall but whenever I start limewire it won't connect and the firewall icon says I still have an active firewall. I've tried to fix it for a few days but now all I can say is HELP!!!!!!! Thanks.

billy bunter,
Rather than turn off your XP firewall, make sure it's configured properly. I thought LOTR gave directions for how to enable UPnP in your router? Well, try port forwarding then. Don't forget to set up a static IP address first;)

roookie777,
Please tell us your details (check the link below)

Hi, tried everything I can think of, also allow port permission. I didn't go through this trouble before. It's only 1 month ago since I've used LimeWire. Still, I'm getting the message saying my firewall is blocking the access. Just don't know what to do any more.:bangh:

Double check your software firewall config. Have you read through this sticky? It has lots of advice about connection/firewall problems
