Connection Problems Problems getting the LimeWire or WireShare program connecting to the Gnutella network.
(not about connecting to files, that is a Download/Upload Problems section issue.) Please supply system details as described in the forum rules.

![]() 1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) windows xp home edition 2. What firewalls you have? only windows i think 3. How much ram? 2.53 GHz, 248 MB 4. Hard Disk space available?idk 5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) broadband 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? copmaq modem, router is ripwave wireless (by navini networks) and model number 2.5-2.6 LMX E 7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? house 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LW4.12.6, Java 1.5.0_08 9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? i29.net 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? "page cannot be displayed. it is taking too long to respond. 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. no 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. this is my frist time with LW 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? yes okay i filled out those questions, sry if i did a bad job. haha im not very smart with computers at all. so i have one green connection bar and on the connection pannel there are different numbers but the longest i will stay connected to any of them is 15 seconds and then it disconnects and goes back to 0:00. I use mozilla firefox as our internet (instead of internet explorer) and i disabled the pop up blocker for that. i already went in to windows firewall and did all the port adjusting and such for gnutella. this is really frustrating me, and i would LOVE it if someone could help me out...(and please remember i dont know much about computers, so in simple english would be great!) alright. i really appreciate your help on this guys. thanks |
