1. Mac OS X (v 10.4.8)
2. Standard Mac firewall
3. 512 MB
4. 3.54 GB
5. don't know
6. don't know
7. college campus
8. Limewire 4.12.6
9. college campus
10. After a while, a page opens saying loading the page is taking too long.
11. don't know—other college students?
12. new problem
13. I see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of FW's interface.

I've tried all the suggestions about changing my firewall settings, and cannot get the brick wall to go away. I turned my firewall off. I turned it back on and used your suggestion to add a new port for Gnutella. What do I do? It just stopped working a couple weeks ago. I recently started to use Mozilla Firefox more than Safari—could that make a difference?

Nowadays most campuses block or filter LW & other p2p sharing programs. So I'd imagine that is your problem. Speak to the IT manager & see if he/she can allow a port for you thru the schools firewall & no shaping or blocking. Negotiation is the best & safest way. ;) :)

The weird thing is, Limewire worked for me for at least three months—does that mean it's my computer?
