Did you try enabling UPnP or port forwarding for your router, as was suggested in one of your other threads??

Default Same Problem

I've got the same problem. I have a new system with Windows XP and I use a linkys router that has no firewall. I've turned off the Windows firewall but whenever I start limewire it won't connect and the firewall icon says I still have an active firewall. I've tried to fix it for a few days but now all I can say is HELP!!!!!!! Thanks.

billy bunter,
Rather than turn off your XP firewall, make sure it's configured properly. I thought LOTR gave directions for how to enable UPnP in your router? Well, try port forwarding then. Don't forget to set up a static IP address first

roookie777,
Please tell us your details (check the link below)

Hi, tried everything I can think of, also allow port permission. I didn't go through this trouble before. It's only 1 month ago since I've used LimeWire. Still, I'm getting the message saying my firewall is blocking the access. Just don't know what to do any more.

Double check your software firewall config. Have you read through this sticky? It has lots of advice about connection/firewall problems
