Connection Problems Problems getting the LimeWire or WireShare program connecting to the Gnutella network.
(not about connecting to files, that is a Download/Upload Problems section issue.) Please supply system details as described in the forum rules.

Starcomms Nigeria 10. wasnt able to connect to the link 11. dont share my connection 12. my first time with limewire 13. yes there is a brick wall. i've tried evrything almost at the end of my wits,but still can't connect to any host or peers ![]() |

![]() Thanks for posting your details ![]() Have you configured your xp firewall to allow limewire access to the internet: http://www.limewire.com/english/content/firewalls.shtml By modem do you mean that you are using a dial-up connection?

![]() Open LW and go to Tools>Options>Speed, and tick the box beside "Disable Ultrapeer Capabilities", and click apply. Sometimes that will cause problems for people on a dial-up connection. You may need to restart LW for the changes to take affect. Another thing you could do is call your ISP and ask them what their policy is reguarding file sharing programs. They may not allow file sharing, or maybe they only allow it during off peak hours. You could try connecting LW with your firewall shut down. Just to rule that out. I don't recommend surfing the internet without a firewall, but you could try it as a test. Thats about all I can think of right now.
