Connection Problems Problems getting the LimeWire or WireShare program connecting to the Gnutella network.

![]() since I switched to using wireless broadband internet, I could not connect to Limewire anymore. there is always a FIREWALL that blocks my connection to Limwire. I have been trying to unblock it with all the instructions posted in the threads, but I could not make it work! PLEASE I REALLY DO NEED YOUR HELP!! I would appreciate it a lot! 1. OS version? Window XP 2. What firewalls you have? Internet Connection Firewall ( in the Properties ) 3. How much ram? 512 MB 4. Hard Disk space available? quite lots 5. Connection type? Wireless broadband 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Ripwave wireless ( Navini networks), PN : 95-00215-30 Rev: A Moderm EID#: FFACA440 7. Where are you trying to connect from? house 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? LW 4.12.6, Jave : 1.5.0_05 9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? I-29 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? cannot read the page 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? no 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user? no, I have used LW before with my dial-up internet 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? YES!!! and there is only one green bar showing !!! sad!! thnx lots! ![]() |

![]() Most wireless devices have internal NAT firewalls. But it appears yours may not have such. To find out more, go to the bottom of the page link here & look at the support links http://whirlpool.net.au/index.cfm?a=h_view&model_id=189 You have XP so I presume you configured it to allow LW access right? (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link) If still problems, try changing listening port to one between 49152 - 65535, such as 64049. To change this, go to LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Advanced>Firewalls. |

![]() thank you so much for replying me, lord of the rings! but unfortunately, I did follow the instruction you gave and my LW still does not WORK! i already configured my firewall to allow LW access right and i also did try to change the LISTENING PORT like you shown! but nothing works! is there any other way I could do? thnx a lot! |

![]() I had a look at this http://www.i29.net/index.php?page=su...n=3&article=27 There is a chance the firewall is at the ISP with their wireless service. Rather than just change the listening port, also try changing the connection port. If still no go, try another gnutella program. A couple of others to try: Phex to see if you have the same problems.
