Please can someone help. I have been using limewire happily for months and now for some unknown reason I can not connect. Everything works except the connection status at the bottom of the page only goes as far as "connecting"
I use AOL, XP pro, and my internet is working fine. Oh and I can see it has worked?

AOL, you lost me there. Many people complain about AOL. However, to all of a sudden stop working & not connect, sounds like an ISP issue.

However, try deleting your LW Preferences folder whilst LW is closed; instructions here: Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire (sample image included at bottom of page.) Try opening again.

No it's not. It's very similar though. It's older code that's been used by someone to develop their own version. It is offered at scam sites in particular. See http://www.limewire.org/forum/showpo...45&postcount=2

As far as the preferences folder goes, I'm not sure what name it will have since I've never tried 360. But try steps 2 & 3 & swap the LW name with 360 & see if you find anything. You could also search manually, by looking at these directories:
C:/Documents And Settings/your_username/.limewire (or 360)

C:\My Documents\limewire (or 360)

C:\Documents and Settings\*yourusername*\Application Data\limewire (or 360)
BTW the application data folder will be invisible so you'd need to change view mode options to show all hidden files & folders.

Do you think it is something at 360s end and I have just got to be happy to have been conned?

OK took the hit and paid and downloaded LW pro. Now everything is great again. Just wish I had realised the scam to start with.
I was happy before but now I am really happy LWPro is much quicker!
