Firewall or loopback connections blocking limewire?

I have used limewire many times in the past, and have never had a problem. However, I recently reinstalled windows xp, and it wont open. When I click the icon on the dektop, it states " Limewire was unable to initialize and start. This is usually due to a firewall program blocking LimeWire's access to the internet or loopback connections on the local machine. Please allow LimeWire access to the internet and restart LimeWire"

I have reinstalled it numerous times, configued my firewall to allow LimeWire, and it still won't work.
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

If your using Windows Firewall try disabling it all together just while using LW, that works sometimes, I don't know about other firewalls.

You shouldn't have no software firewall. It should be turned on but properly configured to allow LW full access; (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link)

The Loopback scenario is generally related to a router/modem that has a NAT firewall. The answer is to enable UPnP if it supports it, or else forward a port; Connection problems? Check here first! (click on link)

1. Can you get the model number of the motorola? 2. Did you configure your firewall so it allows LW full access (advisable not to have 2 active firewalls b/c they can interfere with each other); Firewall configuration instructions (click on link)
3. It looks like perhaps you have the option to show that icon turned off. You'll find it under LW's menu bar, Tools>Options>Status Bar
