longtime user, suddenly no downloads, search works

I've successfully downloaded as recently as 24 hours ago. Suddenly, today it won't download anything, but search works fine and returns results as normal. Here's the requested info:

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) WinXP SP2
2. What firewalls you have? Windows Firewall
3. How much ram? 2GB
4. Hard Disk space available? over 250GB
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) cable 8M/768k
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Linksys BEFCMU10 & WRT54G
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? apartment, but my own cable subscription/feed
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LW 4.12.6, Java 1.5.0_09
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Time Warner (Dallas)
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Test works - "Your test worked!"
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. Shared via the WRT54G with a second computer via 802.11g (this computer is wired)
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. As mentioned above, new problem with an experienced user.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes, and have the necessary ports open on the WRT54G.

More info:

Tools --> Advanced --> Firewall config is set for port 6346, with UPnP enabled.

Nothing has been changed in the last 24 hours on the router, this computer or LW options.

Again - search works fine, but downloads won't work at all. All other internet activity including multiple VoIP lines working fine.

Is it possible that somehow Time Warner has blocked downloads without blocking search?

EDIT: Saw on another thread someone saying the WRT54G(S) routers are "lemons" but with all due respect, I don't believe the router is the issue, and nothing has been changed on it for the last two months or so. LimeWire, 3 VoIP lines on two adapters, up to 4 computers at times, etc have always worked flawlessly through it. I'm running third party Linux firmware in the router and it performs very very well.

Thanks in advance,

-Gary-

What happens when you try to download?
If files don't even move into the download pane, check the link below
License (click)

If files get stuck connecting & then show 'need more sources' but won't ever download, check this link

If you want to look into getting rid of that firewall icon, maybe port forwarding would work better that enabling UPnP. If you're firewalled, other people are going to have a really hard time uploading from you;)
You'll find heaps of info about firewall problems within this sticky

Thanks birdy, for the quick and on-target reply. I was in the "get stuck connecting & then always need more connections" mode. And it turned out to be the "fake file" problem. First time I've ever run into this, guess I've just been lucky. Was searching on one particular artist, and tried unsuccessfully to download 6 different selections. But just went back in and played a bit, and got several more downloads with no problem.

Will read up on the firewall issues per your link.

Thanks again!

That's nice to hear!
Good luck with the firewall.
