That's for slepage...they don't have their firewall status showing.

Do you see the firewall icon?
What OS are you using?
What type of connection do you have?
Who is your ISP?
Does the port 6346 test work?
Where are you connecting from?
What version of LW & Java do you have?
Are you sharing a connection with other computers?

If you do see the firewall icon, have you tried reconfiguring Norton's firewall?

Have you looked through the connection problems sticky (see post #2)

Default From Humboldt as well

My limewire stopped working when I had the shift from Cox to Suddenlink as well. Might be the issue though I have no idea how to get around it. Suddenlink is rather lacking on response to customer requests for tech support. I had no issues until the service provider switch occured.

Humboldt,
Your modem doesn't seem to have a firewall...did you try reconfiguring Norton?
A lot of Cox customers had trouble using LW, not too sure about SuddenLink.
There are a couple of points in their AUP which could suggest that they're anti-p2p but I can't find anything to say that they're definitely going to cause problems.
http://www.suddenlink.com/About-Sudd...nd-Policy.html

You could try connecting through a different port , say 64049...tools > options > advanced > firewall config & you can change LW's listening port.

Default Me Too

Humboldt, I am also a new Suddenlink customer in the Eureka area. A friend at work was having trouble connecting to Limewire and so I tried at home again tonight to see if I could help him. Looks like I am screwed too.

I usually use zone alarm. I have turned all firewalls off but I still get the starting to connect message in the lower left of the Lwire app with a brick wall infront of the world icon. Funny thing is that our IP address range traces back to Tyler, Texas which is quite a ways from where we really are.

Hopefully as there is some kind of fix or work around...where am I going to get my xmas tunes?

AUP is acceptable use policy (sorry)...that's where you can often find info about whether your is blocking or throttling p2p. It does sound suss that you & Deadland both had probs after the ISP change. Have you tried calling them to find out their policy on p2p?

You could always try using a different port & see if that helps.
Otherwise...sorry but I'm a bit stumped.
