Used to connect, doesn't anymore

My LW used to connect everytime I tried to download a file. Now when it tries to connect it says that it is unable to, or if it manages it downloads a 0kb/s then stops after a while. this happens on large and small files.

Also my search results recently have been very poor, I may not get any hits even when I search for something that should bring up lots of results.

Can I also apologise in advance for infuriating anyone when I ask what they mean, I am not the most computer savvy person.

System Details

1. Windows XP
2. ZoneAlarm Firewall (no previous problems using Limewire)
3. Don't know my RAM
4. 150GB Hard Disk Space
5. Broadband Connection (Wireless)
6. D-Link Wireless Modem Router DSL-G604T
7. Trying to connect from a privately owned ground floor flat.
8. Limewire version 4.12.6, Java 1.5.0_06
9. Talk Talk Broadband
10. It says 'your test worked'
11. simple domestic wireless network with 2 computers using it
12. this is a problem that has occurred in the past week, previously i've had exceptional service from LW
13. Yes, there has always been a brick wall there though

Trying to delete the LW preference folder might have an effect....
Read here on how to delete this folder (Point #2 & 3 in Fixes for Limewire)

Afterwards reboot your computer.

Besides, if you have a brick wall in front of the globe it might be advisable to portforward for your router, since some models aren't doing well with UPnP.

Follow the in link in this thread referring to portforwarding.....(connection problems -click first:)
