Limewire very slow since ISP change

OK i switched ISP's a month or so back and ever since then my limewire download speeds are very low.
Before I was getting 100+kb/s any time

Now Im lucky if I crack 5kb/s (If it downloads at all) It might spike up to 20 or so once a day for a few seconds.

I checked the stickies but they dont help...ive tried limewire pro, frostwire, etc, i get a fine connection status but its just so damn slow its not even worth it.

My line tests at like 7Mb down (as opposed to 1Mb with my old ISP) so I was expecting an improvement here..not a drastic decrease. Everything else is great..gaming, surfing, etc....just limewire...

Kazaa lite works fine I get 100+ speeds (but every song you download off of there is 21 minutes of nothing)
I just tried to get into the whole torrent thing but I cant even get a connection, same with any other p2p i try to use.

I would think if my ISP was blocking my limewire use, it wouldnt work at all, but its connects, just dl's very VERY slow.
And KLite speeds are fine...the content just sucks.

I deleted the other post, I wasnt sure if this was a connection problem topic or an upload/download topic.

You haven't said who your ISP is....:rolleyes_2:

yea my isp is Source digital cable....its a local service in Hamilton, Ontario.

I would have posted my pc specs, network specs, etc...but it worked fine with this setup..its now just a different isp. Ive tried as many tips as I can in the stickies...no luck.

I had Sympatico before..and I know people say they dont fool around with blocking or shaping p2p traffic (and I agree)...but they were a big rip-off to me...and I hate Bell altogether.

Im Getting almost 7x the dl and 3x the up.. for about 5 bucks less per month

(In case anyone was wondering why I switched in the first place or why i dont switch back)

Im not a huge p2p user just music, so this problem would not warrant an ISP change when everything else is great....But would love fire off a nasty email to source if this sounds like they are being nasty with their service.....its a local company so maybe with a little prodding I can get past this problem with just calling them...but would rather have some input here to see if theres an easier fix.

I would suggest you call them and see if they shape p2p at all, that would explain the drop in your speeds ever since you changed ISPs...
