i had limewire on my computer, but then it crashed and evreything got wiped out. i have norton 2007 installed and did everything on the limewire site, but i still cant connect!

help!

If you had done EVERY thing it would be working YES/NO ?
Please list what you have tryed.
Also your System details. and we will see what we can do.

1. OS version? Windows XP Prof
2. What firewalls you have? Norton 2007 and maybe some standard windows one?
3. How much ram?512
4. Hard Disk space available? 4.68 GB i think
5. Connection type? DSL
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Belkin something....i haven't been having issues with my internet tho
7. Where are you trying to connect from ? [B******[/B]
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 4.0.4
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? verizon
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? it works
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. no
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. new problem, my computer crashed and after it wont work anymore tho my computer completely refreshed. i think its my norton
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? nope

oh what ive tried its been a while but i tried going to norotn and allowing the program (it is allowed) i tried opening that portal thing and think i did it correctly. i cant remember what else i tried...sorry.

1. Disable your XP firewall: go to the control panel, double click on Windows Firewall, check the disable box. Then configure Norton: Configuring Norton Internet Security (different instructions)

2. Generally Belkin work best when port forwarded; go here & find your model & follow directions carefully: http://portforward.com/routers.htm
