Your ISP is your problem. They shape P2P bandwidth over certain times of the day.

1. You'll find TalkTalk here ISP's known to BLOCK or Filter p2p or specifically Limewire

2. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=64467

Look at the TalkTalk links in the 1st link I gave or search talk* on the forum. I believe you can only use it at certain times of the day. I've heard most UK isp's are now applying similar policies. But not all!!!

UKBobboy01 has some knowledge of a few isp's that don't shape or block p2p.

Hi Charlilou

I see that you are also a victim of your current ISPs bandwidth/traffic shaping policy, or as they would call it “Fair Usage” policy.

You asked:

To be honest, you can’t because your ISP has installed equipment and software that actively looks for P2P traffic and curbs it.

The only way to avoid your ISPs bandwidth shaping is to move to another ISP, now in the UK there are probably less than six ISPs that do not employ bandwidth shaping techniques, of which I only know of two, i.e. NTL and Bulldog. It may also be possible that Tesco do not bandwidth shape but my good friend and forum colleague Only A Hobo could answer that one.

Hope this helps.

That's a good idea ukbobboy01, why don't we try to put together a list of UK isp's that don't block LW. Might need a reasonable amount of research to find for sure which ones don't shape p2p. Perhaps we can discuss how to go about it in the padded cell.
