These volunteers keep the board organized and moving. Moderators are authorized to: (in order of increasing severity) Move posts to the correct forums. Many times, members post in the wrong forum. These off-topic posts may impede the normal operation of the forum. Edit posts. Moderators will edit posts that are offensive or break any of the House Rules. Delete posts. Posts that cannot be edited to comply with the House Rules will be deleted. Restrict members. This is one of the last punishments before a member is banned. Restrictions may include placing all new posts in a moderation queue or temporarily banning the offender. Ban members. The most severe punishment. Three or more moderators or administrators must agree to the ban for this action to occur. Banning is reserved for very severe offenses and members who, after many warnings, fail to comply with the House Rules. Banning is permanent. Bans cannot be removed by the moderators and probably won't be removed by the administration. The Rules 1. Warez, copyright violation, or any other illegal activity may NOT be linked or expressed in any form. Topics discussing techniques for violating these laws and messages containing locations of web sites or other servers hosting illegal content will be silently removed. Multiple offenses will result in consequences. File names are not required to discuss your issues. If filenames are copyright then do not belong on these forums & will be edited out or post removed. If your post is placed in the wrong forum it will be moved by a moderator. There are specific Gnutella Client sections for LimeWire, Phex, FrostWire, BearShare, Gnucleus, Morpheus, and many more. Please choose the correct section for your problem. 7. If you see a post in the wrong forum or in violation of the House Rules, please contact a moderator via Private Message or the "Report this post to a moderator" link at the bottom of every post. Please do not respond directly to the member - a moderator will do what is required. 8. Any impersonation of a forum member in any mode of communication is strictly prohibited and will result in banning. 9. Multiple copies of the same post will not be tolerated. Post your question, comment, or complaint only once. There is no need to express yourself more than once. Duplicate posts will be deleted with little or no warning. Keep in mind a forum censor may temporarily automatically hold up your post, if you do not see your post, do not post again, it will be dealt with by a moderator within a reasonable time. Authors of multiple copies of same post may be dealt with by moderators within their discrete judgment at the time which may result in warning or infraction points, depending on severity as adjudged by the moderators online. 10. Posts should have descriptive topics. Vague titles such as "Help!", "Why?", and the like may not get enough attention to the contents. 11. Do not divulge anyone's personal information in the forum, not even your own. This includes e-mail addresses, IP addresses, age, house address, and any other distinguishing information. Don´t use eMail addresses in your nick. Reiterating, do not post your email address in posts. This is for your own protection. 12. Hrm? Model number? Were there reports or info about certain Hubs having bugs that effect only specific software? Model: EFAH05W 1 gig of ram Just the firewall windows came with (ive disabled it) about 60G free space (defragged bout every 4 months) Connection is a strong 512k cable connecting from a house in the suberbs (word up) my isp is Wideopenwest.com I passed the test I share my internet connection with 1 other computer (both are connected to a hub-->Cable modem--->Lines outside the house 1st time i ever tried to run Limewire I have not seen that on the interface (blue world) I appologize in advance if this sounds rude because im not trying to be. I have read over the Tech page that you provided on the sticky. As I read on clicking on Sub link after sub link, I realized how specific this page really was. I ask myself: If the problem is -=THIS=- detailed maybe its not my comp (I have tried running this on a similar specced comp w/same network setup/OS ect..) but rather its the software itself. Could you give me just the general "things to try first"? I consider myself and avid computer user as ive made a few web pages and edited a few games, but ive never heard of this "port fowarding" Well i assume it doesn't apply to me as it only talks about "ROUTERS" with this issue. (Try not to get mad here) If Limewire poses this much trouble just to connect, why use it? Im sure some of you run it no prob. Perhaps there is a supernode function to click? Lol maybe i should have mentiond this before but the version of Limewire im running is 4.0.8 Any bugs about that I should know? Upgrade? |

I kinda have the same problem but I don't have another person sharing with me and I have McAfee Security and every time I try to allow the connection it says that Limewire has full access but when I go on limewire and try to search for something it says that limewire is trying to connect to the network. Can someone help me? |

Wannadoo now Orange 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Try this first: Delete LW's preferences folder when LW's properly closed. See point 3 here & also point 2 if you've used older versions of LW in the past (there could be a folder in either location). Fixes for LimeWire This will change all of your settings within options, you'll have to go back through afterwards & reset things. If you're not sure of your settings, go through LW's tools > options & write them all down, so that you can reset things later. In case you're using Vista: LimeWire Pref Folder in Vista Some people have had connection problems with some Java versions. You can either try updating to the latest version here (I have this one & LW's working fine): Java SE Downloads or try this older version, which has worked well for lots of people: Archive: Download Java 2 Platform Standard Edition (J2SE) 5.0 Update 11 Whichever Java version you use, download the JRE offline installer & remove any other Java versions before installing another one. Have you had any connection problems before? Orange is known for traffic shaping but I'm not so sure about blocking p2p. Try connecting outside of peak hours. You can also try changing ports. In LW tools > options > advanced > firewall config. Change LW's listening port to something in the range of 49152 - 65535 (eg 65000) > apply > ok. What's the model of your Speedtouch? |
