blank/grey screen issues I looked everywhere on here and have seen nothing to help with my issue for my version. I just downloaded LW for the first time, version 4.12.6 I believe. Actually we have downloaded and removed this program 2 or three times because of the issues. What happens is the first small box comes up, it does it'sd job and everything is great, then LW app comes up, and then the trouble starts when it asks me if I want to download the pro version, then it locks up including the whole pc, the LW app goes gray, sometimes I can get the upgrade box down then the tip box is up, I think I have gotten that down once, but the app screen never corrects itself and along the top it says "enabling....." I forget what it was trying to enable, lol. I have (I believe) windows xp, hp pavxt853, intel 3, umm anything else? I also just got itunes, and a java update I believe is included with that. I'm not too sure about getting rid of the java upgrade cuz I don't want that to mess with itunes. Thanx for any and all help! Marissa |

I tried the second one you have listed but have not found the video card driver or graphics card in the two places they listed. Does anyone know where I can find this? Also should I be trying suggestions given for older versions of LW? |

If it's running really slowly, try updating your Java. Use the JRE offline installer in the link here & remove your current Java version (add/remove programs) before you install the new one. http://java.sun.com/javase/downloads/index_jdk5.jsp |

I did what you said, and I also defragged my pc, did a scan disk check, restarted, scanned it with adaware. Now a error message comes up and it says: your machine does not appear to have an active internet connection or a firewall is blocking limewire from acessing the internet." and goes on to say that it will keep on trying to connect. I know I am definetly online, and I even turned my firewall off. maybe it just wasn't meant to be... lol |

Don't panic about the firewall/connection thing until later At least your LW opens now. Did the Java update fix your lag issues? You don't have to turn your firewall off. Just make sure that you're only using 1 (remember XP has it's own) & that it's configured properly. Check out the sticky below...it has heaps of info & fixes for connection/firewall problems. Connection problems? Check here first! If you're still stuck, tell us your details System details - help us to help you |

umm, possibly, it is still acting abit slow but that might be because it is trying to connect and can't, or cuz my pc sucks, lol. I can't know for sure until it stops acting funny. I'll try that stuff tomorrow though, thanx for all ur help. |
