Default Can't connect..help!

I had an older version of LW that worked fine but I just tried to move to the latest version of basic and now it won't run, it brings up the window but just freezes (see below) I checked my firewall and it does allow it to access so I don't know what else to do, i tried the other tricks and nothing!!

1. OS version? Windows XP
2. What firewalls you have? Norton
3. How much ram? Yes
4. Hard Disk space available? Yes
5. Connection type? DSL
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Belkin F5D7230-4
7. Where are you trying to connect from? Home
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? Can't get to LW menu but just downloaded Java 10
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Cavailer
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? It said it worked
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up.--No
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.---New problem with exper user
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? No

No luck, I did that and tried to reinstall and now I'm getting an error saying

Error opening file for writing one after another

the only thing that works is to abort the download

Well unistall it and start again using the offline installers...When you go to unistall it make sure you don't do it from the add/remove programs, use the limewire unistaller...

Thanks, I did use the offliner installer and I rebooted again and turned off Norton all together and was able to connect and download one song but then I tried to search again and there were no results that came up so its now coming up but not returnting any search results, any ideas? Also, I noticed on LW there was the blue ball at the bottom right with the brick wall in front of it, what does this mean? Thanks for your help!

You have a built in NAT firewall in your router and will need to Port Forward...
These are the instruction for your router, follow them closely and your wall will disappear....
