Ok, well I recently got a new PC and decided to install LimeWire, so I downloaded the 4.12.6 version, but when I click the Limewire icon and it says something about my machine not haveing an active internet connection, or a firewall is blocking limewire from accessing the internet. Im on the internet so its not that, so I figured it was the firewall, I have 2 that I know of on the computer, the windows firewall and the norton internet security one. I tried everything, I turned them both off, I tried keep one on and the other off, I tried configuring it (not sure if I did it right though), but it just seems like this brickkwall in front of the globe wont go away So thats where you come in, I need help getting rid of this mystery firewall, its really getting annoying Oh yea, on my old computer it ran limewire perfect right after downloading it, I didnt have to switch anything, if theres anything you guys need to know just say (Im no computer genious so you will have to guide me through stuff)

ok, just found this and I guess I need it, ill do my best to fill it out, like I said, im no whiz with computers

1. OS version? (eg: Windows 98) Windows XP
2. What firewalls you have? Windows and the Norton Internet Security thing that came preinstalled on the computer, those are the only 2 that I know of, but everything I tried to fix this, it seems there could be more that I dont know about, but I have no clue abou that stuff
3. How much ram? 960mb
4. Hard Disk space available? dont know where to look
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) Cable
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Motorolla SB5120 SURFboard Cable Modem
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? House
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. Limewire 4.12.6 Java 1.5.0_10
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Atlantic Broadband
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Your test worked!
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. I have no idea
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. Ive had it on my old computer for a few months, never jad ot do this
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes, I cant get it to go away

ill be back later leave your solutions here please

Can you supply the details for your modem/router...It's the box that connects you to the internet and the name and model of it should be on it or under it...

There's probably not a real lot you can do, besides changing ISPs...Try changing the Port numbers it may help...

No it's your ISP that's to blame for the firewall...

I followed the steps on that post, since my limewire was on 'custom' but still a firewall blocking it, could there be another firewall on this computer blocking it?
