I am Having SERIOUS limewire problems. Anytime I try entering limewire, the same problem message popping up stating "Limewire was unable to initialize and start. This is usually due to a firewall blocking Limewire's loopback connections. Please allow limewire to make these connections, and restart limewire".I've tryed almost everything by now, and I know there's no firewall. So someone help me PLEASE! My info is below:
1. OS version? Windows XP
2. What firewalls you have? Windows Firewall
3. How much ram? 256 MB
4. Hard Disk space available? 6.96 GB (not sure)
5. Connection type? dial-up
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? don't know
7. Where are you trying to connect from? house
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have?
LW-4.12.6 Java-J2SE Runtime Enviroment 5.0 update 8
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? AOL
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? Test works
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. no other computers, don't know about P2P.
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. new problem
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Can't even enter limewire
