can't connect
 

i've been looking through the posts and i can't seem to figure out what's wrong with my limewire so any help given would be really appreciated.

i downloaded limewire today actually about five hours ago and i still have not figured out why it won't work. at the bottom left hand of the screen the bars are all red save for the first very small one, it hasn't gone past it yet.

i disabled my windows firewall but it still didn't work and i don't have norton so that can't be it. i don't know, i'm just getting really frustrated by the whole thing because the last version i had on my old computer worked perfectly.

anyway thanks in advance for those who can help.

Have you been through this sticky & checked your software firewall etc?
Connection problems? Check here first!
Rather than turning off your win firewall, it's better to make sure it's configured properly. You'll find a link within the sticky. Your modem/router might have it's own firewall, so read the bits about enabling UPnP & port forwarding.
