do you think if i removed all the norton stuff completely from my computer it would help? i still have it free for 55 days but i dont want it if its gonna do this

You could do that, I initially had Norton and when it ran out I just got one of the free AV's that many recommend in this forum...
I have this one, try it to start with and we can discuss alternatives a bit later...

ok i went to star, control panel, add remove programs, and removed it there, is that completly removing it?

Use your computer's search to look for Norton & Symantic...you might find a few things still hanging around.

jimbo-ice,
Do you by any chance have the NetSafe security package as part of your Atlantic Broadband service (see the link below)?
http://atlantic.highspeed.com/

That also has a firewall. I'm running out of ideas here
You could search your comp for NetSafe...see if anything shows up. Or have a look on your documents from your ISP, you might find some info to tell you whether you have that package.

ok ill check, um i emailed atlantic broadband earlier to see what they had to say about blocking it heres what they say..."P2P connections are being throttled thru our network.....during peak hours you may not be able to connect"

I just searched NetSafe and got no results, cool, I have to be doing something wrong, I cant be the only one on here with this bad of a problem (where you guys start running out of ideas) lol

forgot to mention, I did a system recovery thing earlier and when it asks what type of internet I had I put DSL, I think last time I put LAN, i rally dont have a clue what it is but the way they described dsl sounded more like cable then the LAN did, also, when i was supposed to put in my ip address and all that I left it blank.... I was lost bigtime by this time, maybe that has something to do with Limewire and other P2p connections?
