senso,
We'll need some details in order to help you. See the info that rufuscodd gave? That's what we need.

rufuscodd,
Pipex are known to throttle p2p, this is probably effecting your ability to connect:( If the port 6346 test doesn't work, means that something's blocking LW's default port - probably Pipex. Have a look at these links

http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...threadid=33712
http://forums.vnunet.com/thread.jspa...threadID=81410

You could try changing ports (try port 64049). Within LW tools > options > advanced > firewall config. Here you'll see LW's listening port & can change it, just click Apply to save the change. Any ports allowed thru a firewall or forwarded thru a modem/router must be the same number as listening port.

If Pipex are blocking p2p ports, there's not much that will help...you could try the suggestions below but there's no guarantee it will change anything:)

Your router has a firewall. If it supports UPnP, enable it within the modem & then choose the UPnP option within that LW firewall config page.
If using UPnP doesn't help, you could port forward. Look for your router in the list at the site below & then follow their instructions. Don't forget setting up a static IP if it's included in the instructions.

2. What firewalls you have?-------Mcaffe
3. How much ram?-------512mb of ram
4. Hard Disk space available?------9GB
5. Connection type?------DSL/highspeed
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers?----Linksys WRT54GS
7. Where are you trying to connect from?------House
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have?----- 4.12

11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs?----I'm on my laptop, on wireless. My brother's computer is directly connected to the router -- dunno if that's what you're asking, but yeah.
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user.-----This is a first try, never used limewire before.
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface?------Yes

Now, I've tried everything on this thread. I've disabled all my normal firewalls, and even did the port forwarding...And it's still not working. I'm only getting one tiny little green bar of connection, and I don't really think it's connected at all. My ISP is a small local thing, so I'm not sure if it blocks p2p but if it does, anyone know how I can get around it? Thanks for your help~.

wondering why January 16th, 2007 03:18 AM

I goggled your ISP and I cant find anything saying that they block p2p..
When you Port Forwarded what instructions did you follow and did you set up your static IP correctly..

Are these the instructions you used...
