Unhappy Desperately need help!

I used to be able to run limewire and download files no problem but for a few weeks now, I can't seem to get connected. I have Mcafee and windows firewalls disabled and still no progress with the connection. I'm still stuck with one green bar.

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling and still nothing. Today I uninstalled it and downloaded the 4.13 beta but I am having the same problem. What could be causing this? I am going crazy trying to figure it out even though I'm not that good with computers. Please someone help me.

Here's my system info:
1. OS version? WINDOWS XP HOME SP2
2. What firewalls you have? WINDOWS AND MCAFEE
3. How much ram? 80 G
4. Hard Disk space available? 71.4
5. Connection type? (eg: dialup, broadband, cable, etc.) DSL
6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? LINKSYS ACCESSPOINT G
7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? HOUSE
8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. 4.13 1.5.0_10
9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? STREAMYX
10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? IT SAYS YOURE TEST WORKED
11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. NO
12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. I'VE USED LW FOR YEARS AND ITS THE 1ST TIME IVE HAD PROBLEMS
13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? YES

Take a look at this thread...I had the EXACT same problem that you are having, and I think the person in this thread may be, too...

P.S. I also had the brick wall in front of the globe (signifying firewall problem), even though I had my Windows FW turned off and McAfee set to allow LW full access. To complicate matters further, the brick wall would come and go!

Your ISP has a history of throttling p2p & other people have had the same thing happen! It could also be to do with the recent earthquake in Taiwan

Have a look through these threads for more info about your ISP

You could try changing ports to one like 64049. In LW tools > options > advanced > firewall config is where to change LW's listening port. Apply to save a change. Any ports allowed thru a software firewall or forwarded thru a router should be the same number as the listening port.
Have you always seen the firewall icon, or is this a new thing?

I'm not computer savvy so I'm going to need a little bit of help here. I deleted the .limewire files and that didn't do anything to help woth my connection. The earthquake in taiwan most probably started all these problems for me. Is there a way to make my LW work? If so, can someone please help me step by step in fixing this. I'm going crazy here and I don't know what to do.

p.s. I'm not sure if I had the wall covering the globe before. I only noticed it recently and its there all the time even if I disabled my firewall or allowed LW complete access
