Corrupt file in Shared,Films! Maybe.

Been using Lime Wire for some time with no problems. Now when I attempt to load, it starts up, gets as far as the area of "loading saved files" and fails. I have uninstalled and installed Live Wire again to no avail. If I try to use explorer it crashes when I get to the folder Shared "windows explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close". If I run a scan in Norton this also crashes at Shared, Films with the same "encountered a problem". I have downloaded AVG Anti Spyware 7.5 and this also crashes at the same location with "something bad happened in the application". Any ideas please. If not I suppose I will have to remove the Shared folder!

Just a suggestion. Try scanning in safe mode. Press F8 on start up to get to safe mode.

Thanks but I'm afraid no luck in safe mode.

Defragment your Hard disk drives. Also see if you can free up some space if the drives are more than 80% full. Also use disk & file utilities to check your drives & files are in a healthy state.

Same Problem here, I think?

I have over 400 songs and it always used to say the amount I had, then yesterday it changed to zero, the songs are still there, but now when I download a song it goes to "individually shared files", it never used to do that. The 400+ songs I have are all under saved files, how do I get the amount I used to have back:bangh:

Are the files in red in your library. If so, try right clicking them and click to share files.

Or in LW go to tools>options>shared and see if your shared folder is listed. If not then add it. Default location is C:\Documents and Settings\"your account name"\Shared.

Thanks pac, I just tried where it said "restore default" and it worked, the amount is back.:wai:
