![]() I tried to follow the exact instructions given on the forum. From portforwarding to the Windows Firewall to the Norton Configuration. LW seems to be connected but, it's very, very slow. It's stated here that the download speed is 2kB/s @ 2KB/s. I tried doing the port forwarding thingy, however, my task wasn't complete. Because everytime I tried doing so, the internet connection will be cut off. I tried calling my Isp, but he told me to get my dns from myself(run->cmd->ipconfig/all->dns servers. It didn't help at all. Internet connection wasnt resumed, and I was stuck. This is starting to take a toll. I tried to configure everything myself, but it's hopeless. Shareaza doesn't work. Utorrent doesn't work. Bitcomet doesn't work. 1. OS version? Windows Xp sp2 2. What firewalls you have? Windows Xp & Norton 2006 -If these are affecting the performance, why is it that even when both of the programs are turned off, i still do not see any changes. 3. How much ram? 504mb 4. Hard Disk space available? 30-40% 5. Connection type? Cable(Wireless) 6. Modem & router brand name & model numbers? Linksys Wcg200 http://192.168.0.1 7. Where are you trying to connect from (house, appartment complex, school, student accomodation, work, etc.)? House. 8. What version of LimeWire (LW) & Java do you have? (Go to LW's menu Help>About LW...) Will show both LW & Java version. LW- 4.12.6 & Java 1.5.0_10 9. Who is your ISP provider (Internet Service Provider)? Starhub- Singapore 10. Do this simple test for us. Using your browser go here: http://www3.limewire.com:6346/ The page should say 'Your test worked!'. What happens when you go there? 'Your Test Worked!" 11. Are you sharing the connection with other computers or p2p sharing programs? If yes, please give details of set up. I am sharing it with another Pc and one laptop of the slightly the same model as the one i"m using. Presario V2000 However, all of these computers do not usually work all at the same time. I mean, usually only one is switched on. 12. Is this a your 1st try at LW or is this a new problem with an experienced user. No, it isn't. I had one before. 13. Do you see a brick wall in front of the blue world icon at the bottom of LW's interface? Yes. I do. Thanks for your time.I appreciate it if anyone could find a solution to the problem. |

![]() Firstly I would be demanding your DNS server numbers from your ISP, they have to provide you with that info if you request it, I'd say you got a very lazy consultant, I would ring and complain about him for starters...(enough of my rant lol)...So I take it you don't see your DNS numbers when you are setting up your static IP... Instructions for setting up static IP... http://www.portforward.com/networking/static-xp.htm These are the instructions for your modem/router... http://www.portforward.com/english/r...0/Limewire.htm I also searched the forums about your ISP and this is what I found... http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...hlight=Starhub
