Limewire does not open

whenever i try to open limewire doesent open.. all that happens is it acts as if it about to open and lw boot window closes all of a sudden.
I've exhausted all methods...
ive reinstalled atleast 10 times
deleted the limewire pref. folder.
installed java offline.

help/suggestions please?

Right click on the LW desktop icon > properties. Now change compatibility to Win 2000 or NT.

Make sure that LW's not being sabotaged by some other program. If you're using any antispyware, make sure that LW's on the list of exceptions/allowed apps (some programs will wrongly pick LW as a threat):)

If you've used an old version of LW in the past, you may have a preferences folder in the old location of C:\Documents and Settings\your username\.limewire so just check for that as well.
It's usually antispyware rather than a firewall when LW fails to open...are you sure you're not using any such program?

You could try using the 4.13.0 beta...see if that's any different. You can get it from the normal download page or if you're using Pro, from your personal download page.

Or, you could try the Java 1.6 but you might have to remove all other Java versions from your computer for that one to work;)

Or...try using the 'other' installer
Installing using the 'other' installer
