firewall + portforwarding question....plz help

1. WIN XP sp2
2. WI have disabled xp's firewall and have forwarded a port on the router.
3. 640ram
4. over 200gb
5. DSL with a 3.0 mbs download bandwidth and 1.5 upload
6. router is a netgear rp614v3 modem is a speed stream 5100
7. connecting from a house.
8. 4.12.3 pro and java 1.5
9. SBC
10. test works
11. the router is connected to another computer running LW as well and i have also forwarded ports for that computer using its IP. I also have a xbox 360 and an Netgear switch both hooked up to the router. The switch is then plugged into the computer in question and a acces point aswell.

I've forward my port on my Netgear Router rp614v3 and have got so that it doesn't show the firewall on the corner of my screen. However after a couple hours the wall pops up again.

One more thing...so far the only way around this has been to change the port number and restart Limewire.

edit: I tried upnp but I don't think it worked. I installed the UPNP interface in windows and i enabled it on my router...didn't work. One more weird thing. When I'm downloading and uploading with no problems I can't log in to my email...it times out. I'm sure there's a connection here.
