Lime 1.7 Connects / Lime 2.02 does not

Ok, I just purchased 2.02 PRO. Installed perfectly but would not connect to other than one host using Ultrapeer. De-Installed and re-installed without any additional success.

Copied version 1.7 from another system onto this machine and had no problems connecting to 1000 hosts.

Anyone have any ideas?

Pete

LimeWire 2.02 connects to 1 host only

Well, I have exactly the same problem. Anny suggestions how to fix it?

Unregistered December 24th, 2001 12:49 PM

ME TOO

I think everyone is having the same problem. I tried to disable the ultrapeer selection and it did no good. My bad luck is that this version "updated" the older one and I can't seem to locate all the preferences to get rid of it.
The suggestion of adding hosts doesn't work.

I placed a zip file with all the files necessary for v1.7 to run. on my web server. You can open the file from your browser and save it to your hard disk as a zip archive. The complete Sun JAVASOFT directory is included. This directory has JAVA versions for both Limewire 1.x and 2.02. You may already have these on your hard disk (Installing 2.02 does not write over the old version).

I placed the Limewire files in "Program Files/Limewire/1.7/" This way they can coexist with 2.02PRO.

Good luck!

Okay - I got 2.02 to work. Edit your limewire.props file with notepad changing these two lines to what is shown below:

EVER_SUPERNODE_CAPABLE=true
FORCE_SUPERNODE_MODE=true

This should promote you to Ultrapeer status (I am currently showing 7 hosts) in short order and your searches and downloads should work like they did before. Actually they seem faster. Have not observed in upload traffic yet.

BTW, I am pulling the v1.7 link above as it should not be needed.

Happy Holidays!

Same problem with RedHat 7.2. and Limewire 2.0.2

In the connections windows I only have one line which indicated that I'm connected to 1 (sometimes 2) hosts ultrapeer

I've tried also to manually edit the limewire.props file and change the DISABLE_SUPERNODE_MODE=true
EVER_SUPERNODE_CAPABLE=true

In my case it still fails.

Any idea ?
Where can I find the 1.7 (link is broken) ??

Thanks

Anyone know how to achieve this with a Mac?

I too can only get one connection irrespective of how many I tell it to connect to. Went back and tried 1.7 again and it's fine, this is just the new version.
TIA for any help.

Hello,
This worked the first time, but the file updates itself every time. I can get only one ultrpeer host and my returns come up with nothing.

Unregistered December 26th, 2001 09:55 PM

Same problem. I tried updating the ultrapeer settings to no effect. However, I noticed this problem started exactly on 12/25/2001. Prior to that date, everything was working fine. Is it possible that router.limewire.com is down or messed up and has not been fixed because everyone is on vacation?

LimeWire 2.02

I got many connections with LimeWire 2.02 after updating the props file as suggested. Thanks!

However, the connection tab is still missing the section with auto connect hosts etc. Is that a bug or a feature?

LimeWire 2.02

I wish I had never given the LimeWire folk my $USA 6. It is not a large amount, but 2.02 does NOT work, even using the previously listed solutions, while 1.07 WORKS.

I suspect that by tommorrow I will send a reimbursement request for fraudulent sale. This is an example of vaporware. It was sold before it was ready.
