Port Forwarding Info Required.

Hi all,

Sorry for starting a new thread, I searched for a couple of hours to find that many people are experiencing the same problems as I am. Anywya, here is my situation.

I am receiving the following error message:

'Your machine does not appear to have an active internet connection or a firewall is blocking LimeWire from accessing the internet. Limewire will automatically keep trying to connect you to the network unless you select 'disconnect' fom the file menu.'

I am currently using Windows Firewall, I receive this message when the firewall is both on and turned off.

The Limewire version I am running is 4.12.6and am running Internet Explorer 7.

My modem is a DSL-200.

Some peers have suggested that I may be experiencing a problem with open ports. I switched to manual portforwarding, but I am not sure which port numbers I should be using.

Any suggestions would be much appreciated.

Regards

Thanks for the response Mick.

I was in the process of looking at that page believe it or not. lol

It seems as though my Modem is not listed there at all (DSL-200). I followed the guide for another D-Link modem (DSL - 302G I think). However I am having problems with static IP addresses. If I chane my IP address or DNS settings I cant connect to the internet.

Am just wondering if I should delete all LimeWire program files, uninstall and then reinstall LimeWire.

I have been using LW for nearlt 2 years and have had this problem for about 5 months not. Othere p2p programs seem to operate ok on my PC.

Hi el
I have the DSL-504T, with that u just have to enable UPnP
Have you managed to accsess your router settings if so enable UPnP and
re start com.
Oh make sure you have UPnP selected in LimeWire Tools/options/Advanced/
Firewall config before restart Hopfully It will auto config.
You should know if it worked, Just go to search in L/W at the bottom click
Direct connect and you should be looking at your address.
Shout if you need help
Peace.

el
If you put the CD that came with it in com, and browse it, dont run it and you will find full info in one of the folders, Called setup info, or something like that, They will give you an address to put in your browser, that will access your Settings, Try it man see how you get on, mines differant or I would talk you through it.If you get stuck You know where we are.
Peace.

No dice Mick.

I found a D-Link site, but could not find my moded dsl-200

I am guessing that my router has enabled UnPN as I used it previously to share files through LimeWire and still use bittorrent (which is currently working).
