Why did you change it?? your not suppose to...Go back and start again and follow the instructions exactly...I know it's not an easy task to do but if you take your time and do it correctly you should have success...

ok so i was trying to set up the static ip again but when i enter the ip, the subnet mask, the default gate way and the dns address i get this error "the ip address you have entered for this network adapter is alredy assigned to another adapter 'd link air plus G wireless USB adapter (rev C)'. 'd link air plus G wireless USB adapter (rev C)' is hidden from the network connection folder because it is not physically in the computer. if the same address is assigned to both adapters and they both become active, only one of them will use them. they may result incorrect system configuration.

do you want to enter a different ip address for this adapter in the list of ip addresses in the advance dialoge box?"

I have no idea what has happened, I've never heard of that before...
My suggestion would be to enter all the numbers that where there before (you know where it says to write them down just in case something goes wrong)...There's not alot more I can help you with because the static IP is just not working for you...Sorry...

this 'forwarding a port thru your router' thing. are you sure i should do this with my laptop which has the wireless usb and not the computer that has the connection to the actual router.

It's your laptop that you're having trouble with. From what you said earlier, the other computer doesn't have any problems.

in my other comp where the router is connected from works fine and the it downloads go normal but here i m having this problem.
You've had UPnP enabled & don't have a firewall. You've changed ports. This port forwarding is just one last thing to try & see if it will help your download speeds on the laptop. It has helped some people to increase their download speeds (even if they're not firewalled). There's no point setting up port forwarding for the other computer if it has no problems & is downloading normally. Rogers is known for traffic shaping & as I said before, this could be why your downloads are slow on 1 computer....but I don't know for sure. Are you using LW on both computers at the same time?

Is it absolutely vital to have LW on both computers? Maybe you could just use LW on the computer that has no problems?

umm i think its a bit late now i chage it and my comp with internt connected to the router is going slow now too.i think i got the port fowarding thing rite because the internet is working but let me change it to the way it was before and see if this comp is still downloading fast.and about the version of the lime wire..my computer has 4.12.6 in the computer and my laptop, which has this problem, has 4.13 pro. but i think its not version, because my bitorrents speed was pretty low too in my laptop that has this problem.
