I do have a question for you though. On another forum a person named Don't Wanna Name suggested Avast as a good anti virus and says it doesn't interfere with LW and b4 I go installing it have you heard anything about it.Also, where will you see exe,rar,zip n wma at. Would it be under file name or what????? I must be getting annoying but thanks for the help

I hope this works for you guys. I bought a new computer with Windows Vista Home Edition and it came with Mcafee. I uninstalled the Mcafee and restarted my computer. I installed the AVG free edition antivirus. The resident shield wasn't working so I reinstalled choosing the repair option. I then started Limewire and IT WORKS GREAT. I really don't care if I ever reinstall Mcafee as long as I have an antivirus program. My daughter bought the same computer and it worked on hers also. I had already updated to JRE6 before I tried this so I don't know if that was necessary but I do know even with updating the java Limewire did not work before I uninstalled Mcafee. So obviously it isn't Windows Vista that causes the problem with Limewire..

So in short we have Two Problems.

VISTA will only work fully with the NEW, java JRE 6

Also Evidently mcafee and limewire don't mix too well.
If anyone has Mcafee F/W and LimeWire running properly together Can you post it here.
