I'm not too sure, but if you give us the brand & model of your modem/router, it might help. You said "high speed broadband" earlier but a brand & model might be better.

Modem

Ok the modem is a Scientific Atlanta Webstar DCP2100 series. I don't use a router at all and this is the 3rd modem that I have had this problem with. My email not starting up is a new one...

OK Alpha.
If you got LimeWire Pro from the offical site, you can update to the latest version free so Use this link to update.
Download it first, Dont install it yet. n use the off line installer.
http://www.limewire.com/
First! close L/W completly, Tray included then Go,
START/My Computer/local disc C:/ Documents & settings/Your User Name/Application Data
Now Delete the LimeWire Folder.
If you cant find Application Data Folder,GO to Tools/folder Opions,& tick, show hidden folders,
You can put the setting back afterwoods to protect your computer.

note: You will have to reset your, Tools/options in L/W Later.

Try that man n get back.
Peace.

I can't get it for free

My free update expired so I would have to pay for it. Yeah I thought of that one and it was like well, I haven't even been able to use the one I paid for so why should I pay again you know? I have obviously had it for awhile, but because I have been having problems with it I rarely use it. But every now and again I get this bug up my *** to try and fix it! So here I am. Any other suggestions?

If by any chance you are using a Marvell Yukon ethernet adapter the link below may be of some help. You may need to update your drivers for your controller

Hi Alpha
Follow Grandpa's link first and if that dosent solve it you may need to scan your system propaley
Sounds like a virus....
Check your system using any of these programs (I reckon using all of them):
http://www.lavasoftusa.com/software/adaware/(free)

http://www.grisoft.com(good free AVG)

http://www.ewido.com(>>now called AVG Anti Spyware<< free 30 day trial -the best in my opinion)

http://www.ccleaner.com/download/(free)

Spybot - Search & Destroy (FREE)

If you can't get rid of it go here and get some free computer help:
http://norbiesworld.co.uk/computerhelp

You can also read here point 4 in the post of LOTR....:
http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showthread.php?t=41432

if its possable we will get there in the end.
Peace.
