Help - having trouble(can't connect) This seems to be a fairly routine question from people but I'm struggling to find an answer. Here's my system details: 1. Windows XP 2. Bullguard anti virus and firewall - disabled Windows firewall (have tried disabling both but brick wall still showing) 3. Plenty of RAM 4. Plenty of disk space 5 Broadband 6. Belkin N1 MIMO wireless modem router 7. My home 8. 4.12.11 Pro and Java 1.5.0_06 9. Homecall 10. Test worked 11. Wireless router connecting 3 computers (my pc is wired - 2 others wireless) 12. Downloaded Pro in January and it has been working brilliantly until a week ago. All I can get is starting connection Any ideas? BTW not too technically minded when it comes to computers so basic english is useful when describing things! Thanks |
Pipex Homecall are known to throttle p2p...Take a look at Birdy's posts in this thread... http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...light=homecall I'd say you have popped up on there radar as a heavy downloader and they have now throttled you.... You could try changing your listening port number to something between 49152 up to 65535, try this one 64049.... |
Changing the listening port I did see some advice about changing the listening port before but to be honest I can't figure out how to do it - I can add exceptions to be allowed through the firewall but can't find how to change the port. I will investigate changing my provider if Homecall are not too friendly towards p2ps. Thanks |
Whilst in limewire go to Tools > Options > Advanced > Firewall configuration.. |
