![]() 1. OS: Vista Home Premium 2. Firewalls: McAfee (enabled with LimeWire given access and with the port open for it) Windows Firewall (all settings disabled) 3. RAM: 2048 MB 4. HDD Space: ~325 GB 5. Connection: Cable 6: Modem: Motorola Surfboard SB5100 Router: Linksys WRTG54 v. 6.0 (Firmware updated) 7. Connection Location: Home 8. Limewire Version: 4.13.2B Java Version: 1.6.0 (JRE 6.0 SE) 9. ISP: Adelphia/Time Warner 10. Connection Test: Pass 11. Other P2P: None 12. This problem only occurs on my Vista notebook, LW works perfectly with all versions on both my XP desktops... all are running with at least a gig of RAM and have McAfee installed, but they only have Java 1.5.x 13. Firewall Indicator: Yes, and it remains on when I turn McAfee Firewall off, when I set up port forwarding for LW from both the router and the firewall, and when all three sections of Windows Firewall are off. I have read all the posts on this, I know it's common, but it seems like everyone manages to fix their problem with running under admin and installing Java. I have tried multiple times to install Java with the offline installer, and it installs correctly. I have uninstalled and reinstalled it. I have updated LW and rolled back and tried everything I can think of. I'm just wondering if I'm missing something. If I missed anything, please let me know. |

![]() You may need to portforward your router. And allot of people are having problems running McAfee on Vista and getting LimeWire to work with it installed. The link below is to portfprward.com you can get instructions for setting up your router there. http://portforward.com/english/route...outerindex.htm |

![]() Alright, so I opened up the manual port and I was able to open a connection to one IP address, but only for about a minute. I disabled every single McAfee service and protection until they were all disabled and that didn't help. I have noticed that Firefox will not open or run while Limewire is on. IE will open, but will not connect to another web page. I am running the latest versions of both. I rechecked the port test from the sticky to see if something changed when I opened the port, but it's still open. I have no idea what else to do. |

![]() I would advise you to uninstall McAfee allot of people say they can't run LimeWire until they do. The link below may be of some help. http://www.gnutellaforums.com/showth...ghlight=mcafee |
